Location: Scoresby, VIC
n Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
n Roster: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–4:00pm, with every second Friday off — 9-day fortnight

Our client is a leading provider of municipal vehicles and specialist equipment, including refuse trucks, sweepers, vacuum/jetting units, bulk waste equipment and static compactors.

n

You will be joining a team of approximately50 people onsite, including around 12 office-based employees and 36–38 employees across production, including Welders, Fabricators and Assemblers.

n

The role offers the opportunity to work in a practical, hands-on manufacturing environment with a stable team and a consistent Monday–Friday roster.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Perform MIG and TIG welding and fabrication across a range of products and equipment.

n

Complete fillet and butt welds to required quality standards.

n

Set up welding machines, jigs and fixtures and prepare materials for fabrication.

n

Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings.

n

Carry out fitting, grinding and finishing tasks.

n

Undertake oxy cutting and other cutting tasks as required.

n

Conduct weld testing and ensure welds meet required standards.

n

Use overhead cranes, power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.

n

Work with mild and stainless steel, generally 3–5mm thick,



with occasional material up to 12mm.

n

Complete work in accordance with quality, safety and standard work requirements.

n

Maintain accurate and timely records of work undertaken.

n

Work independently while contributing positively to the wider production team.

n

Identify opportunities to improve processes and the quality of your own work.

About You

n

The ideal candidate will be aWelder, Boilermaker or Fabricatorwith experience in a heavy manufacturing, automotive, truck, structural steel or similar workplace.

n

You will ideally have:

n

A trade qualification as a Welder, Boilermaker, Fabricator or similar.

n

Demonstrated experience withMIG weldingand oxy cutting.

n

TIG welding experience is highly regarded.

n

Experience working in theautomotive or truck industryis highly desirable.

n

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

n

Experience with fabrication, fitting, grinding and finishing.

n

Strong understanding of quality and safety requirements.

n

Ability to follow standard work practices and procedures.

n

Ability to work independently and without constant supervision.

n

A strong commitment to producing quality outcomes.

n

A formal welding qualification is preferred, butfull qualification is not essential for the right candidate
