Embedded within the NALHN Mental Health Service at Modbury, you will deliver evidence-based dietetic assessment and intervention for adults in a mental health rehabilitation setting.
Key responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments and developing individualised care plans for consumers with complex mental health presentations.
- Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team — including psychiatrists, occupational therapists, social workers, and nursing staff — to support whole-person recovery goals.
- Providing education and skill-building to consumers and carers around nutrition, metabolic health, and the dietary impacts of psychotropic medication.
- Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and supporting the development of junior staff and students on placement.
What you need
- In this role you will have robust interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships.
- An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.
- Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligibility for membership with Dietitians Australia.
