Camden Search is partnering with a well-established Victorian Government statutory authority to recruit an experienced payroll professional to lead the delivery, governance and continuous improvement of their payroll function. This is a hands-on leadership role for a payroll professional who wants to build scalable processes and drive genuine improvement within a growing public sector organisation.

About the role

n

Reporting to the CFO, you'll be the organisation's payroll subject matter expert — owning end-to-end payroll operations, enterprise agreement interpretation, statutory compliance and payroll systems administration, while leading and developing a small payroll team.

Key responsibilities

n

- Lead end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely processing
n
- Own payroll governance, compliance, taxation, superannuation and audit readiness
n
- Interpret and administer the Enterprise Agreement, translating industrial requirements into payroll processes and controls
n
- Lead payroll system upgrades, configuration, reporting and data analytics
n
- Partner with Finance and IT on system and digital transformation projects
n
- Provide expert payroll advice to managers and staff, resolving complex payroll matters
n
- Lead, coach and develop the payroll team
n

What you'll bring

- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll, including governance, compliance, taxation, superannuation and audit
n
- Proven experience interpreting and administering Enterprise Agreements
n
- Strong payroll systems, reporting and data analytics experience
n
- A track record of leading process improvement or system transformation initiatives
n
- Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving and team leadership skills
n
- Tertiary qualification in Payroll, Accounting, Finance or Business (desirable)
n
- Experience with TechnologyOne payroll highly desirable
n
- Victorian public sector or similarly regulated setting experience highly desirable
n
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll, including governance, compliance, taxation, superannuation and audit
