The Duty Supervisor plays a pivotal role at ANU Sport and is responsible for overseeing the efficient day-to-day operations of the sporting facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for customers. The Duty Supervisor supervises Customer Service and Personal Trainer staff, monitors facility usage, acts as an escalation point in handling customer enquiries and issues, and enforces ANU Sport policies and procedures. They support the smooth delivery of services while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency. The Duty Supervisor will be the contact point for patrons using ANU Sport facilities on a day-to-day basis. On weekday mornings, the Duty Supervisor will be the face of ANU Sport, meeting and greeting all members and patrons while performing essential functions, following established processes and procedures for memberships, facility hiring, and administrative practices.

Key responsibilities

- Monitor and oversee the proper and protected use of ANU Sport's facilities and grounds by ANU students, ANU Sport affiliated clubs and commercial hirers
- Conduct regular checks of facilities to ensure cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols, operational guidelines and facility hire guidelines
- Make clear and concise decisions surrounding facility use, in alignment with ANU Sport policies and procedures and work health and safety requirements
- Ensure Customer Services Officers are fulfilling their duties and tasks while providing a high standard of customer service support
- Ensure Fitness Centre Officers are proactively monitoring all fitness centre spaces, while generating positive and educational engagement with members and patrons
- Ensure the booking system (EnVibe) is operating efficiently and accurately, resolving any booking-related issues promptly and professionally
- Support the comprehensive onboarding of new front-of-house staff, including introducing company policies, delivering hands-on training,



and conducting system and software training
- Identify, document, and report maintenance needs and repairs to ensure facilities remain in excellent working order
- Record and report all incidents, injury, accidents, misconduct, and near-misses associated with the facilities and grounds
- Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels of essential items, including merchandise, supplies and promotional materials

About you

- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Check (employee with ANU Sport listed as an employer)
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proven capacity to manage multiple responsibilities
- Proven capacity to problem solve and think critically
- Proven capacity to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Proven ability to show initiative and exercise judgement in high pressure situations
- Understanding of WHS legislative requirements, and ability to identify and eliminate risk
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact and build professional working relationships with staff, members, and guests
- Willingness to adapt to changing situations, customer needs and evolving processes and procedures
