Join a supportive and collaborative finance team based in Crows Nest/St Leonard's offering 1 day working from home + very close to public transport. This is a permanent Assistant Accountant opportunity, ideal for someone looking to build on their accounting foundations and grow their career within a stable organisation.

Reporting to the Finance Manager you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end processes, and assisting with a broad range of accounting and finance duties. This role offers exposure across the finance function and the opportunity to develop your technical skills in a qualified environment.

Responsibilities

- Oversea Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Complete allocated Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Prepare and process journal entries to ensure accurate general ledger records




- Assist with supplier payments and maintain up-to-date accounts payable invoices
- Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
- Respond to internal and external queries regarding financial transactions
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Provide support during audit and tax engagements
- Perform general administrative duties to support the finance function

About you

- Previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant
- Good work ethic, fast-learner and keen to get stuck into the role!
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
- Either completed CPA/CA or working towards
