A newly established underwriting agency is building its Sydney team and is seeking a Senior Strata Underwriter to play a key role in shaping its strata portfolio from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up underwriting agency at an early stage — helping build broker relationships, define underwriting appetite, and grow a book in one of the most active corners of the Australian insurance market.

The Role n

n
- Underwrite a portfolio of Residential & Commercial Strata risks, applying strong technical judgement across pricing, terms and risk selection
n
- Build and manage relationships with brokers and strata managers nationally
n
- Represent the agency at industry events, broker meetings and within the wider strata community
n
- Contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines and appetite as the agency scales
n
- Work closely with leadership to help shape the direction of the strata book
n

About You nn
- Proven experience underwriting Property and/or large Strata risk
n




- Strong technical underwriting skills with sound commercial judgement
n
- Genuine enjoyment of broker engagement, relationship-building and networking
n
- Established relationships within the Strata / Broker community highly regarded
n
- Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving start-up environment
n
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset — this is a chance to build something, not just administer an existing book
