WAMSTEEL PTY LTD is seeking an experienced Fabricator to join our team in Somerton, Victoria. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic organisation in the trades and services sector. As a Fabricator, you will play a crucial role in the production and assembly of steel and metal components, contributing directly to the quality and delivery of our products. This position is based on-site in Somerton and offers the chance to develop your skills in a professional and collaborative environment.

What you'll be doing

Interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine fabrication requirements and measurements

Operating and maintaining fabrication equipment including cutting, bending, rolling and forming machinery

Measuring, marking and cutting metal materials to accurate specifications using hand tools and power tools

Assembling metal components and structures using welding, bolting, riveting or other joining techniques

Performing quality checks and inspections throughout the fabrication process to ensure products meet required standards

Preparing materials and work areas to maintain a safe and organised working environment

Collaborating with other fabricators, welders and team members to complete projects on schedule

Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used

Adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies

What we’re looking for

Proven experience as a Fabricator or in a similar metal fabrication role within the trades sector

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately

Proficiency in operating standard fabrication equipment and machinery safely and efficiently

Sound knowledge of welding techniques and metal joining methods





Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing work that meets precise specifications

Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team

Physical capability to perform manual tasks and work in a factory environment

Current or willingness to obtain relevant trade qualifications or certifications

Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices

Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing work requirements
