SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Head of Mission, the Senior Driver provides safe transportation to authorized passengers; provides courier and logistical services, arranges for vehicle maintenance and cleaning, undertakes vehicle administrative duties, and may additionally support the mission by assisting with basic administrative, protocol, maintenance and other support services following established mission and departmental policies. May be asked to work overtime or extended hours at short notice.
Core responsibilities include but are not limited to : ensuring proper maintenance of the Official Vehicle(s), transportation coordination including itinerary planning, organization of routes and activities, and assessment of risk presented by the environment.

Language
The Following languages and proficiency levels are required for this job. Candidates will be formally assessed or requested to provide proof of certification on these levels.
- An advanced proficiency level (reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking) in English.
Experience
In order to perform the duties relevant to this job, the following experience is required.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in passenger car driving such as driving an official vehicle.
- 2 years of experience working in a team environment.
- 2 years of experience working in a client service setting.

Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications.
- Basic French (speaking, reading).
- Previous experience working with diplomatic mission.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Operational requirements will be assessed on a "meet/does not meet" basis and can be used to determine right fit of a candidate for the position.
- Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days a week.
- Must be available for occasional duties outside normal working hours (i.e., evenings and weekends), sometimes on short notice.
- As a member of the Canadian diplomatic presence abroad, there is a requirement to adhere to Canada’s Code on Values and Ethics.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

- Valid work authorization: Ability to obtain and hold a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period.
- Security screening: Obtain and maintain a Reliability Status (security level) which includes a criminal and credit background check from the Government of Canada. The required level of security clearance must be maintained throughout the employment period.
