The Boilermaker supports Cordwell's Group by performing high-quality fabrication, welding, repair, and maintenance work on fixed and mobile plant, structural components, and operational equipment. The role ensures plant reliability, safe operation, and compliance with WHS requirements while contributing to efficient production across quarry, concrete, and transport operations.

Key responsibilities

- Fabricate, weld, repair, and maintain structural components, plant equipment, and machinery.
- Perform MIG, TIG, stick welding, oxy cutting, gouging, and general metalwork to required standards.
- Conduct inspections, diagnose faults, and identify repair needs.
- Fabricate and install guards, chutes, brackets, frames, and other operational components.
- Repair and maintain crushers, screens, conveyors, hoppers, agitator components, and quarry plant.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and job instructions.




- Operate workshop tools and equipment safely (grinders, welders, presses, drills, etc.).
- Maintain clean, organised, and safe work areas.
- Complete job cards, maintenance records, and repair documentation accurately.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, operators, and maintenance personnel.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

- Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker).
- Demonstrated experience in welding, fabrication, and mechanical repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong safety awareness and compliance focus.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Construction White Card (QLD).
- Ability to meet Cordwell’s Group medical and fitness requirements.

Desirable:

- Experience in quarry, concrete, or heavy industrial environments.
- High Risk Work Licence (e.g., forklift, EWP, dogging).
- Confined Space and Working at Heights training.
- Mechanical aptitude for plant maintenance.
- Experience with crushers, conveyors, screens, and heavy plant.

Additional Requirements

This role involves manual handling, working in noisy or high-activity environments, and occasional travel between sites. Flexibility for overtime, weekend work, and call-outs is required.
