Expressions of Interest - Construction Manager – Cairns Region, Queensland

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced and driven Construction Managers to lead the successful delivery of a project in the Cairns region on a 2 weeks on, 1 week off roster.

n

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role on a significant project, overseeing construction activities from planning through to completion while driving safety, quality, schedule, and cost outcomes.

n

As Construction Manager, you will report to and work alongside the Project Manager, to provide operational leadership for the project, ensuring objectives are achieved while fostering a high-performance and safety-focused culture.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Manage construction activities across the project.
n
- Develop and implement construction strategies, methodologies, and execution plans.
n
- Manage and coordinate a multidisciplinary direct team and subcontractors.
n
- Drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
n
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
n
- Work with the project team to plan, allocate resources, ensure productivity, and operational efficiency.
n
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project partners.
n
- Collaborate closely with engineering, commercial, and project controls teams.
n
- Prepare and deliver project reports, forecasts, and construction progress updates.
n

About You

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Possess

- Extensive experience in construction management within civil construction, bulk earthworks infrastructure, or mining.
n
- Proven experience leading teams and complex project delivery.
n
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
n
- Sound understanding of contract administration, commercial management, and project controls.
n
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, risk management, and compliance requirements.
n
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
n
- Commitment to fostering a high-performing and safety-focused workplace culture.
n
- Current driver licence.
n

Highly Regarded

n

n
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
n
- Experience delivering large-scale earthworks, transport infrastructure, mining, industrial, or renewable energy projects.
n
- Demonstrated experience managing self-perform and subcontracted workforces.
n
- Senior leadership experience on remote or regional projects.
n
- Project management certifications or professional memberships.
n
