Securitas is seeking a highly capable Physical Security Specialist to support the secure operation of a leading Melbourne CBD facility. This role is critical to maintaining security compliance, protecting sensitive information and assets, and ensuring the effective operation of physical security controls within a government-cleared environment.

Defence and Government Security Experience ( Mandatory)

Key Experience & Requirements

- This position requires demonstrated experience working within Defence, Government, National Security, Critical Infrastructure, or similarly regulated environments where security compliance, information protection, risk management, and procedural discipline are fundamental requirements.
- The successful candidate must possess a strong working knowledge of Australian Government protective security requirements, physical security controls, classified information handling, and secure facility operations.
- Applicants must have experience supporting Defence Industry Security Program (DISP)



participants, Commonwealth Government agencies, Defence contractors, or organisations operating under the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). Experience operating within security-cleared environments and managing sensitive or classified information is a mandatory requirement.
- This role requires a security professional who can confidently operate within a government-cleared environment, enforce rigorous physical security controls, maintain strict compliance standards, and engage effectively with government, defence, corporate, and security stakeholders. Exceptional judgement, discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail are critical to success.
- Candidates must hold an active NV1 Security Clearance and demonstrate proven experience in security governance, access control management, protective security compliance, incident management, audit readiness, and assurance activities within Defence or Government environments.
- This is a high-security, highly regulated environment where accuracy, vigilance, and procedural compliance are expected every day. You will handle sensitive information and security-related records and must demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, and a consistent approach to documentation and the application of controls.

Desired Skills And Experience

Skills, Experience and Requirements:

- Hold a current and active NV1 Clearance
- Hold a current VIC Security licence
- Experience in handling sensitive government information
- Experience working in a government cleared role with the Protective Security Framework.
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 and HLTAID010) and CPR Certificate (HLTAID009)
- Experience in a similar role required
- Demonstrate required IT knowledge of platforms and software
- Certificate or Degree in Security (IT or Management) or Business advantageous




- Ability to work autonomously and/or in a team
