As a Child Protection Clinician with the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN), you'll be the skilled practitioner who ensures vulnerable children and families receive the right support at the right time — working across the Lyell McEwin Health Service and the broader Adelaide Metro Northern community.

Key responsibilities

- Embedded within the NALHN Child Protection team at Lyell McEwin Health Service, you will work alongside multidisciplinary clinical staff to identify, assess, and respond to child protection concerns presenting across health settings.
- Conducting clinical assessments and risk appraisals for children and young people identified as at risk of abuse or neglect.
- Providing specialist consultation and secondary advice to clinical teams across NALHN regarding child protection obligations and mandatory notification requirements.
- Collaborating with Families SA,



South Australia Police, and community agencies to coordinate care pathways and support family safety planning.

What you need

- In this role you will have solid interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships.
- An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology with current registration or eligibility where applicable.
