Sydwest ENT is seeking a Data Collection Officer to join our team on a part time basis. This role is based in Bella Vista, NSW 2153 and is integral to our clinical and medical research operations. As a Data Collection Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our research initiatives by ensuring the accurate, efficient, and compliant collection of clinical data. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to advancing ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) research whilst working within a collaborative healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

- Collect, record and verify clinical data from patient records and research participants in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate and organised records using electronic data capture systems and databases
- Ensure data integrity by performing quality checks and identifying discrepancies or missing information
- Communicate with clinical staff and participants to obtain necessary information and clarifications
- Prepare and compile data reports for research teams and stakeholders
- Support the preparation of research data for analysis and statistical review
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy legislation, including relevant health information regulations
- Assist with the scheduling and coordination of data collection activities as required
- Contribute to the organisation and filing of research documentation

What we’re looking for

- High school completion or equivalent qualification; additional qualifications in healthcare administration, health information management, or a related field would be advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in data collection, data entry or medical records management




- Proficiency with electronic data capture systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of confidentiality, privacy compliance and healthcare regulations (such as Privacy Act requirements)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team
- A reliable and professional approach to work with a commitment to data quality
- Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical research setting is desirable but not essential
