Role: Infrastructure Engineer
n Day Rate: $650 - $668 + Super
n Contract Length: 12-months (high chance of extension)
n Location: Ultimo/WFH Flex
n We are looking for a senior, hands-on Infrastructure Engineer with broad experience across Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware and enterprise infrastructure environments.
n This role will suit someone who has worked across a broad technology stack, ideally within a smaller or leaner infrastructure team where they have been responsible for multiple platforms rather than working in a highly siloed environment.
n You'll be joining a complex enterprise environment with a strong mix of BAU support, infrastructure improvement, security remediation and project work.

The Role

n

You'll be responsible for supporting, administering and improving core server and virtualisation infrastructure, with a particular focus on Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware and infrastructure security.
n The role is expected to be approximately 50% BAU and 50% project work, with close collaboration across Architecture, Cyber Security and wider technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Administering and supporting enterprise Windows Server environments
n
- Managing Active Directory, Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
n
- Managing VMware vSphere / vCenter environments
n
- Performing ESXi upgrades, patching and lifecycle activities
n
- Supporting VMware hardening and security remediation initiatives
n
- Remediating infrastructure vulnerabilities, including findings from security assessments and penetration testing
n
- Managing Windows Server patching through Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM)
n
- Supporting and administering Linux environments, including command-line troubleshooting and remediation
n
- Supporting Hyper-V environments and workload migration activities
n
- Troubleshooting complex infrastructure, virtualisation and server-related issues
n




- Managing infrastructure changes through structured ITIL / change management processes
n
- Working closely with Cyber Security, Architecture and project teams
n
- Contributing to infrastructure design, documentation, implementation and continuous improvement
n
- Supporting project delivery across infrastructure upgrades, migrations, remediation and platform improvement initiatives

About You

n

You will bring strong hands-on experience across:

n

- Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022
n
- Active Directory Domain Services
n
- DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
n
- VMware vSphere / vCenter 7+
n
- ESXi administration, upgrades and patching
n
- MECM / SCCM for Windows Server patching
n
- Infrastructure security, hardening and vulnerability remediation
n
- Enterprise infrastructure troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
n
- ITIL-aligned change management
n

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience across:

n

n
- VMware hardening and remediation
n
- Vulnerability remediation following security assessments or penetration testing
n
- Hyper-V administration and/or VMware to Hyper-V migration
n
- Leading or owning infrastructure projects and major changes
n
- Working within complex enterprise environments
n
- Producing clear technical documentation, implementation plans and rollback plans
n

Experience in any of the following would also be highly regarded:

- Linux - RHEL and/or Ubuntu
n
- Microsoft Hyper-V
n
- Cisco UCS and/or HyperFlex
n
- Server hardware and datacentre infrastructure
n

n

Beyond the technology, you'll be someone who communicates clearly, approaches problems analytically and is comfortable taking ownership of infrastructure changes in a complex enterprise workplace.
n You'll ideally have a stable employment history and strong experience working across both BAU and project delivery.
n This role will suit an experienced Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys being technically hands-on, working across a broad technology stack and contributing to meaningful infrastructure, security and transformation initiatives.
