The Cafe Supervisor leads day-to-day floor operations at Three Beans Cafe, ensuring every customer receives excellent service and every shift runs smoothly. This role carries direct responsibility for stock take and ordering, team supervision, and maintaining the standards that have kept Three Beans a Collins Street favourite!

Key responsibilities

- Conduct weekly and end-of-month stock takes across coffee, food, beverages, and consumables.
- Prepare and place orders with suppliers (coffee beans, milk, produce, packaging) in line with par levels and budget.
- Check stock on delivery against invoices; follow up on discrepancies or damaged goods.
- Monitor wastage, over-ordering, and stock discrepancies, and report trends to the owner.
- Maintain FIFO rotation and correct storage to minimise spoilage.
- Roster, shifts, delegate tasks, and ensure adequate floor and barista coverage.
- Train, coach, and support baristas and floor staff, stepping in on the machine or floor as needed.
- Foster a positive, qualified team culture and address performance issues promptly.




- Ensure consistently high coffee and food quality and prompt, friendly service.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally and promptly.

About you

- Experience in a supervisory or senior barista role in a cafe or hospitality venue.
- Hands-on experience with stock control, ordering, or inventory management.
- Strong barista skills and a strong eye for coffee and food quality.
- Excellent communication and people-management skills.
- Comfortable with basic POS systems and stock/ordering software (or willingness to learn).
- Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Availability to work early mornings, Saturday, and cover shifts as needed.
