JKG Building is looking for an experienced and organised Estimator / Office Assistant to work closely with the builder and assist with the day-to-day running of a busy residential construction business. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who understands the building industry, is confident dealing with trades, suppliers and clients, and can help keep projects, pricing and office administration organised.

Key responsibilities

Daily communication with tradespeople, suppliers and subcontractors

Preparing estimates and costing residential building works

Completing quantity take-offs from plans and specifications

Sending out plans and scopes for quotations and following up prices

Comparing subcontractor and supplier quotes

Assisting with budgets, variations and project costings

Communicating with clients regarding selections, pricing and project information

Monitoring and responding to emails and phone calls

Helping coordinate trades,



suppliers and upcoming works

General office administration and support for the builder

About you

Has experience in residential construction, estimating or building administration

Understands recent homes, extensions and renovations

Can read building plans and prepare accurate quantities

Is confident speaking with trades, suppliers and clients

Is organised and able to work independently

Is proactive and comfortable chasing quotes and following up outstanding items

Has good computer, email and general office skills

Can work directly alongside the builder and help with the daily running of the business
