Empowering teams to deliver great outcomes through connection, inclusion and creativity
Our vision is simple: A future where every person belongs and thrives.
For over 42 years, we’ve partnered with individuals and communities from diverse backgrounds to support independence, dignity, choice and connection. As we continue to grow and respond to aged care reform, we’re creating a new Staff & Scheduling Manager role, for someone who believes that great care starts with supported, capable and connected staff.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role. You'll be actively involved in scheduling, solving daily service challenges, supporting and managing field staff, and getting new team members onboarded and ready to support our clients.
You’ll enjoy a fast-moving environment, making decisions, solving problems and working alongside your team to keep services moving, while keeping the experience of our clients and staff front of mind.
About the Role
Working closely with our Home Care and People & Culture teams, you'll balance client needs, workforce availability, service quality and operational priorities every day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Take a hands-on lead in scheduling and workforce deployment, maximizing the delivery of planned services and workforce utilisation.
- Lead and support our scheduling team, field staff and volunteers, with safety and wellbeing as the first priority.
- Manage workforce capacity, leave, cancellations, service changes and unfilled services to minimize disruption and maintain continuity of care.
- Ensure clients receive timely and respectful communication when schedules change or services are disrupted.
- Manage day-to-day field staff performance, attendance, reliability and engagement, including regular team meetings and communication.
- Coordinate the onboarding of new field staff,
ensuring they are roster-ready and effectively deployed to meet service needs.
- Use workforce and scheduling data to solve problems, improve performance and ensure services meet relevant Aged Care, quality, WHS and industrial requirements.
About You
You’ll naturally connect with our Vision, “A future where every person belongs and thrives,” and your own values will align with ours – Connection, Inclusion and Creativity.
You’ll enjoy leading people, solving problems and making things happen. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly, while being part of a passionate, supportive and purpose-driven team that works hard, has fun and genuinely cares about the people we support.
You’ll bring:
- Experience leading and managing frontline teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, resilience and agility in a quick-moving environment.
- A genuine commitment to customer service and client experience.
- Strong organisation, communication and people leadership skills.
- The ability to use workforce and scheduling data to understand performance and drive improvement.
Experience in aged care, home care, disability, community services or another high-volume service environment would be highly regarded, along with knowledge of relevant industrial requirements such as the SCHADS Award.
Tertiary qualifications in Aged Care, Leadership, Management or HR are desirable but not essential.
Why Join FOCUS Connect?
You’ll join a passionate, fun and purpose-driven team during an exciting period of growth and change. Most importantly, your work will help more older people access the support they need to live life their way.
If you connect with our Vision, Purpose and Values and this role sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
FOCUS Connect is an inclusive employer and welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds.
