Our work focuses on translating new technologies from laboratory research through to practical, commercially deployable systems for industrial decarbonisation.

We are seeking a hands-on R&D; Laboratory Technician to support our research and development activities at our laboratory in Clayton.

n

This role would suit a recent graduate or early-career technical professional with an interest in materials science, chemical engineering, electrochemistry, ceramics or renewable energy.

n

The Role

n

This role offers the prospect to work alongside researchers and engineers on projects contributing directly to the advancement of technologies from early-stage research through to commercial deployment.

n

Key responsibilities include:

n

Assisting with the preparation and fabrication of research samples and experimental components.

n

Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) to safely operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment.

n

Following SOPs to assemble, operate and troubleshoot laboratory-scale electrochemical systems.

n

Collecting and recording experimental data as well as interpreting characterization data.

n

Assisting researchers and engineers with a variety of technical tasks and development projects as required.

n

Helping to identify opportunities to improve laboratory processes and workflows.

About You

n

Recently completed a degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.

n





Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow experimental procedures.

n

Good organisational and record-keeping skills.

n

Comfortable working in a laboratory environment. Experience following SOPs and handling laboratory instruments.

n

Experience working in research laboratories, handling chemicals and preparing solutions.

n

Experience with ceramic processing or ceramic manufacturing techniques. Experience in preparing ceramic slurries, coating and tape casting. Familiarity with using laboratory furnaces and sintering.

n

Experience working with characterisation techniques such as XRD and SEM.

n

Familiarity with electrochemistry.
