HR Driver and Hatchery Transport Operator

Mulgrave | $39 per Hour | Casual with Permanent Part-Time Potential
Our client is an established Australian poultry producer seeking a reliable and safety-conscious HR Driver and Hatchery Transport Operator to join its hatchery team in Mulgrave.

This role will commence on a casual basis at $39 per hour, with the opportunity to move into permanent part-time employment for the right candidate.

You will transport eggs safely between the hatchery and farms across Sydney, as well as undertake longer-distance trips to Harden. This is an important role requiring careful driving, reliability, strong biosecurity practices and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

The Role

Reporting to the Hatchery Manager, your responsibilities will include:

- Safely transporting eggs between the hatchery and farms
- Driving a manual HR vehicle
- Completing deliveries across Sydney and longer-distance runs to Harden
- Ensuring eggs are transported carefully and in accordance with welfare and quality requirements
- Following all loading, unloading and transport procedures
- Maintaining transparent communication with supervisors, managers and farm personnel
- Complying with WHS, quality assurance and biosecurity procedures
- Completing required transport and delivery documentation
- Participating in workplace training
- Undertaking other reasonable duties as directed by the Hatchery Manager

About You

To be considered, you will need:

- A current HR driver's licence
- Experience and confidence driving a manual HR vehicle
- A strong and safe driving record
- The ability to complete both metropolitan and longer-distance routes
- Reliability, punctuality and good time-management skills
- Strong communication skills




- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work early starts and across a rotating seven-day roster
- A responsible approach to biosecurity and animal welfare

Previous experience transporting livestock or live animals is highly regarded but not essential.

Hours and Roster

This position operates across a rotating seven-day roster, with schedules provided in advance.

- Start times will vary between 5:00 am and 9:00 am
- Days worked will vary according to the roster
- A regular shift every second Saturday is required
- Routes include Sydney metropolitan areas and longer-distance travel to Harden
- The role will commence on a casual basis
- Permanent part-time employment may be offered to the right candidate

Pay Rate

- $39 per hour for casual employment
- Permanent part-time conditions and rate are highly competitive and will be confirmed if the successful person transitions into permanent employment
- Employment conditions are aligned with the applicable classification under the Pastoral Award

Important Biosecurity Requirements

Biosecurity is absolutely paramount within this operation.

To protect the health of the livestock and the integrity of the hatchery and farms, employees must not:

- Keep birds, poultry or pigs at their home or residence
- Live at a property where birds, poultry or pigs are kept
- Have regular contact with birds, poultry or pigs outside of work
