Mazda Australia is seeking a Company Accountant to join our National Finance team. In this key role, you'll support reporting and forecasting processes, partner across the business, and support strategic financial decision-making. You will also be responsible for leading the Accounts Payable function and team. This is a permanent full-time position, requiring an on-site presence, five days a week, to foster collaboration, strengthen team connections, and ensure seamless support across the business.

Key Responsibilities include:

n

- Lead and support the Accounts Payable team and function
n
- Support month-end close activities and coordinate accurate financial reporting and forecasting processes
n
- Prepare monthly management reporting, including detailed gross profit and balance sheet analysis
n
- Manage annual budgeting and partner with departments to review results against budget and forecast
n
- Support parent company reporting requirements, including actuals, forecasts, and ad hoc analysis
n
- Maintain and support general ledger reconciliations, fixed asset management, and foreign exchange payment processes
n
- Coordinate internal and external audits and act as the key contact for auditors
n
- Lead, mentor, and support direct reports while fostering a cooperative team environment
n
- Drive process improvement initiatives, finance system enhancements, and policy compliance
n
- Provide support across procurement, tax, and compliance activities as required
n

About You:

You are a proactive and analytical finance professional who enjoys working both strategically and hands-on. You bring strong technical accounting capability, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to build relationships across all levels of the business.

To be successful, you will have:

n

n
- CA or CPA qualification
n
- A completed Degree qualification in Accounting, Business, or Commerce
n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial or chartered accounting environment
n
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/AASB standards
n
- Advanced Excel and ERP system capability (Oracle Fusion experience highly regarded)
n
- Experience managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines
n
- A growth mindset, customer-focused approach, and passion for continuous improvement
n
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience will be highly regarded
n
- Company car and fuel card subject to valid and full Australian driver's license)
