We are seeking a skilled and reliable Qualified Carpenter to join our team as a Sub-Contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of carpentry and construction tasks for a new home build in Sunbury. You will ensure all work is completed to a high standard, safely, efficiently and in accordance with plans, specifications and relevant building standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general carpentry and building works across the residential construction project.
- Read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
- Complete framing, fix-out, cladding, decking, roofing and other carpentry work as required.
- Measure, cut and install timber and other building materials accurately.
- Install doors, windows, skirting, architraves and other finishing items.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high-quality standard and in accordance with project requirements.
- Work effectively with the builders, supervisor, other sub-contractors and trades.
- Maintain a Clea, organised and safe work environment.
- Use and maintain hand tools, power tools and other equipment appropriately.
- Identify and report any issues, defects or variations to the site supervisor.
- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and procedures.
- Assist with general site duties as required.
- Ensure work is completed within agreed timeframes and to project standards.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified Carpenter with a relevant Australian Trade qualification
- Previous experience in residential construction.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials and construction methods.
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Reliable, punctual and qualified.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Current driver's licence.
