About the Role

You will be responsible for MIG welding and fabricating reinforcement steel components, including prefabricated steel cages. You will work from drawings and specifications to ensure all products are manufactured safely and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret drawings and welding specifications

- Set up and operate MIG welding equipment

- MIG weld reinforcement steel bars and components

- Fabricate and assemble prefabricated steel cages

- Perform fitting, layout and assembly of steel components prior to welding

- Inspect completed welds for quality, strength and accuracy

- Use grinders, torches and saws to prepare and finish welded assemblies

- Safely operate overhead cranes to move steel,



cages and materials around the facility

- Assist with automated and semi-automated machinery

- Identify and rectify defective materials or welds

- Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment and tools

- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment

- Follow all site safety procedures and PPE requirements

- Work closely with production, warehouse and dispatch teams

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience in MIG welding and fabrication

- Experience working with steel or reinforcement steel would be highly regarded

- The ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- Ability to work safely around heavy steel and machinery

- Good understanding of workplace health and safety

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- A reliable and positive attitude

- Overhead crane experience would be advantageous
