Prep Learning Assistant (Specialised Care)

This will be permanent term time role working 32.5 hours per week commencing in January 2027.

We are seeking a caring, patient and committed Learning Assistant to provide a combination of specialised one-to-one support for a Prep student requiring additional learning, participation and personal care support, together with broader Learning Assistant responsibilities across the Learning Intervention for Transformation (LIFT) program.

Working collaboratively with teachers and learning support staff, you will assist in implementing adjustments and support strategies that enable students to access, participate in and engage fully with learning and school life.

You will promote student independence, inclusion, wellbeing and participation while supporting the implementation of individual learning and support plans.

A significant component of the role will involve providing dedicated support to a Prep student, while also working more broadly with students and staff as part of the College's LIFT Learning Support Team.

Candidates must be willing and able to provide intimate personal care and mobility assistance, able to provide intimate personal care, including toileting, hygiene and mobility assistance, while promoting the student's dignity,



privacy and independence at all times. Training and ongoing support will be provided.

- Commitment to supporting the learning, wellbeing and inclusion of young students, particularly those with diverse learning, behavioural, physical or developmental needs.
- Capacity to support student learning, engagement and achievement through teacher-directed programs and activities.
- Willingness and ability to provide intimate personal care, including toileting, hygiene and physical assistance, while maintaining student dignity and wellbeing.
- Ability to encourage student independence, self-regulation and social development.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Alignment with the Christian ethos, values and mission of the College.
- Commitment to child safeguarding and the promotion of student safety and wellbeing.
- Certificate in Education Support and Current Paid Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
