Australia Dental Burpengary is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is based in Burpengary, QLD 4505 and offers the opportunity to support our dental professionals in delivering exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our practice operates smoothly whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient comfort and safety. This position is essential to our clinical operations and directly contributes to creating a welcoming and efficient dental environment for all our patients.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting dentists during clinical procedures by passing instruments and materials as required
- Preparing treatment areas and sterilising dental instruments according to established protocols
- Recording patient medical and dental histories accurately
- Providing chairside support and ensuring patient comfort during treatments
- Managing patient scheduling and appointment confirmations
- Maintaining meticulous patient records and documentation
- Assisting with infection control and maintaining a hygienic clinical environment
- Supporting administrative tasks including reception duties and general office management
- Educating patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care when appropriate

What we're looking for

- A qualification or certification as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not essential (or equivalent experience in a dental setting)
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments and materials
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation




- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a clinical team in a quick-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with empathy and patience when working with patients
- Reliability and professionalism with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Experience with dental practice management software is highly desirable
- Willingness to undertake professional development and continue learning throughout your career
