About the Role

Working closely with the People team and business leaders, you will lead recruitment activities across a broad range of engineering and skilled services positions.

This is not a transactional recruitment role. We are seeking someone who understands the value of relationships, enjoys networking, and is naturally curious about people and careers.

You’ll become a trusted partner to our leaders, helping shape workforce plans, identify talent opportunities, and strengthen our employer brand within the engineering community.

The role offers significant flexibility and autonomy. We’re looking for someone who is self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working independently while remaining closely connected to the broader business.





Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end recruitment across engineering, project delivery and corporate support functions.

Develop and maintain strong talent pipelines across mining, industrial, energy and infrastructure sectors.

Build meaningful relationships with engineers, technical specialists and industry professionals throughout Queensland and Australia.

Partner with hiring managers to understand current and future workforce requirements.

Proactively identify and engage passive candidates through networking, market mapping and targeted search strategies.

Provide market intelligence, salary insights and talent availability information to business leaders.

Support workforce planning initiatives and recruitment strategy development.

Deliver an exceptional candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle.

Promote and strengthen the Pitch Black Group employer brand within the engineering market.

Support onboarding, employee engagement and broader people initiatives as required.

About You

You are a relationship-focused recruiter who genuinely enjoys engaging with people and building professional networks, with proven experience recruiting engineering and technical professionals within the mining or industrial sectors.





You will bring:

Demonstrated technical recruitment experience within an engineering consulting, design, mining, resources, industrial or technical services environment.

Strong knowledge of the Queensland engineering market and established industry networks.

A track record of successfully sourcing and engaging passive technical talent.

Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.

The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.

Commercial awareness and the confidence to provide talent market insights to leaders.
