Job Description

n

The Academic Director provides leadership in the efficient, effective and equitable operation of the Academic
n department in the development and delivery of its programs. The role is also responsible for developing
n strong links with key staff at partner Universities and for performance in teaching and learning.

n

The Academic Director is responsible for:

n

n
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of cutting-edge teaching and learning policies, practices and strategies
n
- Provide leadership in the development of program profiles and curriculum development
n
- Ensure established learning and teaching aims and objectives are achieved as per the annual Learning & Teaching Plan
n
- Foster excellence in learning and teaching, including the development of innovative and flexible approaches which support the diversity of students within the College/Campus
n
- Maintain effective processes for assuring the quality of learning and teaching
n




- Provide leadership and effective management in the areas of student support, student engagement and student retention
n
- Manage staff and resources efficiently and effectively in the pursuit of high quality outcomes, in keeping with the College/Campus strategic and learning & teaching Plans
n
- Foster engagement and strong relationships with University partners
n
- Ensure governance structures and policy frameworks which promote rigorous academic quality assurance
n
- processes and conform to the regulatory environment in which the College/Campus operates
n
- Undertake academic staff planning and management
n

Qualifications

n

n
- Tertiary qualifications at the postgraduate level in a discipline relevant to one of those offered by the College/Campus
n
- Demonstrated excellence in leadership and management within a higher education environment, including an ability to build strong, sustainable teams, manage resources within a budget and coordinate a broad range of academic functions
n
- Substantial experience in curriculum development, including the management and evaluation of learning and teaching effectiveness
n
- Demonstrated experience in effective teaching including ability to develop scholarly,



innovative and flexible approaches to teaching and facilitation of learning
n
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire students and staff
n
- Proven success in working collaboratively and an ability to build highly productive relationships across a range of internal and external partners
