Role Snapshot

Our Town Planners provide high-quality statutory and strategic planning advice to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients across a diverse range of residential, commercial, industrial, government and mixed-use projects.

As a Town Planner, you will manage your own portfolio of projects, working closely with experienced planners and Team Managers to develop practical planning solutions and deliver successful outcomes for clients. You will have exposure to projects across the development lifecycle, from initial planning advice and feasibility through to development approval.

This is an opportunity to build your technical expertise, develop strong client relationships and work alongside a collaborative team on a diverse range of projects across Brisbane and Southeast Queensland.

How You Will Contribute

Develop practical and commercially focused planning strategies for client projects, with support from senior team members where required.

Provide statutory and strategic planning advice, including preliminary advice, development feasibility, planning scheme interpretation and input into development design.

Prepare, lodge and manage Development Applications,



including Material Change of Use, Reconfiguring a Lot and other relevant applications.

Manage applications through the development assessment process, including information requests, referrals, public notification, negotiations and conditions.

Assist with planning scheme amendments, change applications, appeals and other statutory planning matters.

Liaise with Brisbane City Council, State Government agencies, referral agencies, consultants, clients and other stakeholders to resolve planning issues and progress projects.

Prepare clear, accurate and comprehensive planning reports, submissions and supporting documentation.

Manage project timeframes, priorities and deliverables while contributing to strong client relationships and positive planning outcomes.

Our Ideal Person

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

Tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning or an equivalent relevant qualification.

Experience working within the Queensland planning system, with a sound understanding of the Planning Act 2016 and relevant planning legislation and instruments.

Experience preparing and managing Development Applications, ideally across a range of development types and assessment pathways.





Experience within a planning consultancy, property, development or local government environment will be highly regarded.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality planning reports and provide clear, practical advice.

Ability to interpret architectural, engineering, landscape and development plans and work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.

Solid organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
