LaManna is Australia's largest independent supermarket, based at Essendon Fields. The Canteen is where our customers come for something fresh and fast. Juices and smoothies made to order, house-made salads, and heat-and-serve meals prepared daily for an easy lunch or dinner. We're now adding a rotisserie and extending our trading hours, and we're after a supervisor to help grow the section into something bigger.

Your Assignment

This one is hands-on. You'll help run the Canteen alongside the Canteen Manager, making products, serving customers and leading the team through service. You'll be across the whole operation, from the iced drinks and juices to the salads and the scoop bar, not just one station. You'll also be the person the team looks to when the manager isn't on site, so there's real ownership in this role from the start. This is a permanent part-time role, 35 hours per week worked across Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

To be successful in this role, you must have proven leadership skills, excellent time management skills, be fanatical about organisation and cleanliness, current knowledge of trends within the industry and enthusiasm to help keep the team energised, motivated, clean and presentable.

- Serving customers at the counter and keeping the section moving through the day
- Making iced drinks, juices and smoothies to order
- Running the scoop bar
- Keeping the salad and heat-and-serve meal displays full, fresh and well presented
- Helping launch and run the new rotisserie offer, including cooking, display and product knowledge
- Taking charge of the section on the days the Canteen Manager is away




- Handling cash and card transactions, and sorting out customer issues on the spot
- Guiding the team on shift and allocating tasks through the day
- Keeping food safety, hygiene and presentation standards in place
- Restocking through the day and closing the section down

To be successful in this role, you must have proven leadership skills, excellent time management skills, be fanatical about organisation and cleanliness, current knowledge of trends within the industry and enthusiasm to help keep the team energised, motivated, clean and presentable.

Your Attributes

- Solid front-of-house customer service experience, ideally in food retail, juice bar or quick service
- Confidence and the ability to delegate
- Ability to train junior team members
- Able to provide information, advice and recommendations on our products
- Happy to work across every part of the canteen, from iced drinks and juices to salads and the scoop bar
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday every week
- Food handling experience is a bonus rather than a requirement
