Located in the heart of Rushcutters Bay, Da Orazio Trattoria is a new Italian neighbourhood restaurant by acclaimed chef Orazio D'Elia. Inspired by the traditional trattorias of north, central and southern Italy, our menu celebrates honest cooking, exceptional seasonal produce, handmade pasta, premium charcoal-grilled meats and seafood, and genuine Italian hospitality.

We’re currently seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Manager to join our growing team. You’ll be a part of leading the daily operations, supporting your high-performing teammates, and contributing to the continued success of the venue as part of a hospitality group poised for expansion.

About the role..

As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional service, smooth shift execution, and a motivated, well-trained team. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Leading service on the floor,



maintaining high standards of hospitality and guest engagement during busy service periods.
- Supporting staff training and development, helping build a confident, capable front-of-house team.
- Managing daily operations, including reservations, table allocations, section running, and opening/closing procedures.
- Handling customer feedback and resolving issues in a calm, skilled manner to ensure repeat business and guest satisfaction.
- Assisting with rostering and labour management, ensuring the team is effectively resourced for all services.
- Maintaining venue presentation and cleanliness standards, including compliance with RSA, WHS, and hygiene protocols.
- Supporting stock control and ordering processes, particularly in relation to beverages and front-of-house consumables.
- Contributing to team morale and culture, acting as a positive and hands-on leader in all areas of service.
