As a Childcare Trainee, you’ll gain hands‑on experience working alongside experienced educators, caring for and supporting children aged 0–5. You’ll learn practical skills in early childhood education, child development, and program delivery while completing a nationally recognised traineeship. This is a role where you’ll receive guidance and mentorship, not just be part of a team.

Some of Your Duties Will Include:

Supporting educators in daily childcare programs

Assisting with child observations and documentation, including eating and sleeping charts, parent communications, and photography





Helping prepare and implement engaging lessons and activities

Assisting with enrollment paperwork as needed

Floating between rooms as your skills grow, gaining experience across different age groups

Participating in training and career development sessions

Following Workplace Health & Safety procedures

Positive attitude, reliability, and eagerness to learn.

Teamwork and strong communication skills.

Must have, or be willing to obtain, a Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Ability to travel reliably to and from the Prestons Centre
