Food & Desire is on the hunt for passionate Chefs of all levels to join our growing team across our venues, production kitchen, catering, and some of Melbourne's biggest major events.

Opportunities are available across our South Melbourne production kitchen, Sunnyside Events in Mount Eliza, premium weddings and corporate events, the Spring Racing Carnival, and our upcoming work at the Formula 1 Grand Prix 2027, delivering premium hospitality experiences for partners including Porsche, Ferrari and Audi at Albert Park.

Whether it's preparing for large-scale events from our South Melbourne kitchen, working within one of our venues, an intimate private function or delivering hospitality at one of Australia's biggest live events, we're building a strong team of talented chefs who bring energy, skill and consistency to every service.

Roles are available now across production, venue kitchens, pre-event preparation and event service, with immediate and ongoing opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Prepare and cook food to high quality and presentation standards across a variety of venues and event formats
n
- Assist with menu preparation and planning for venue events, catering and major events
n
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times
n
- Check and store delivered goods correctly
n
- Work collaboratively with kitchen, front of house and event teams
n
- Adapt confidently to different kitchen environments, from our production kitchen and permanent venues through to large-scale event catering operations
n
- Support smooth daily kitchen operations in fast-paced, high-volume environments
n

Skills & Experience

n

n
- Previous kitchen experience in a similar role
n




- Events and/or catering experience highly regarded but not essential
n
- Comfortable working across different venues and event types
n
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
n
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
n
- Ability to work autonomously when required
n
- Must have valid working rights in Australia
