FGI Developments is seeking an experienced Licenced Plumber to join our growing team in Cairns, QLD. This is a full-time position based on-site, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of residential and commercial plumbing projects across the region. As a key member of our trades team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality plumbing services whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This role is integral to our company's reputation and success in the local market.
Key responsibilities
- Install, maintain and repair plumbing systems in residential and commercial properties
- Diagnose plumbing problems and develop effective solutions using industry best practices
- Read and interpret plumbing plans, blueprints and technical specifications
- Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, standards and regulations
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on plumbing systems
- Provide accurate quotations and communicate with clients regarding work scope and timelines
- Maintain tools and equipment in positive working order and ensure job sites are kept clean and safe
- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople and team members on multi-trade projects
- Document work completed and maintain detailed job records
What we're looking for
- Current Queensland plumbing licence and right to work in Australia
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a qualified plumber
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials and installation techniques
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on-site
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Willingness to continue professional development and stay current with industry practices
