Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Driver/Labourer to join our team at Al Sahel Metal Recyclers in Carrum Downs, Victoria. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehousing and distribution centre. You will be responsible for moving, storing, and managing materials within our facility, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and contributing to the success of our metal recycling business. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, industrial environment whilst working with a dedicated team.

Key responsibilities

n

Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload goods safely and efficiently

n

Transporting materials between different areas of the warehouse and distribution centre

n

Stacking and organizing materials in accordance with safety protocols and warehouse procedures

n

Maintaining accurate records of inventory movements and stock levels

n

Conducting pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment to identify and report any mechanical issues

n

Assisting with general warehouse duties, including sweeping, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and orderly work setting

n

Supporting the loading and unloading of vehicles and containers

n

Following all health and safety regulations and company policies at all times

n

Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure coordinated operations

n

Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency

n

What we're looking for

n

Valid forklift license and certification or willingness to obtain one shortly after commencing employment

n





Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment

n

Physical capability to perform manual labour tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

n

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment

n

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

n

Good communication skills and reliability in attendance

n

Willingness to follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

n

Experience in the recycling or manufacturing sector is advantageous but not essential

n

A clear criminal record check and valid working rights in Australia
