We are seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join the team at Blooms The Chemist Belmont Central on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced pharmacy environment located in Belmont, NSW 2280. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring excellent customer service whilst maintaining the highest standards of pharmaceutical practice. This position offers flexibility and the chance to develop valuable experience in the retail pharmacy sector.

Key responsibilities

- Assist the pharmacist with the dispensing and packaging of medications in accordance with prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
- Provide excellent customer service to pharmacy customers, answering general enquiries about over-the-counter products and services
- Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to prescription processing and stock management
- Manage stock rotation, ordering and receipt of pharmaceutical products to ensure availability and compliance with expiry dates
- Process transactions accurately at the point of sale and handle cash and card payments
- Maintain a clean, hygienic and organised pharmacy workplace in accordance with health and safety standards
- Support the pharmacist in monitoring patient safety and identifying any potential medication-related issues
- Undertake administrative tasks including filing, data entry and telephone communication
- Comply with all relevant pharmacy legislation, regulations and company policies

What we’re looking for

- Completion of a recognised Pharmacy Assistant qualification or equivalent training is desired.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations,



pharmaceutical products and over-the-counter medicines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanour.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when handling prescriptions and processing transactions.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with pharmacy management systems.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to casual work commitments.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and following health and safety protocols.
- Previous retail or healthcare experience is desirable but not essential.
