Data Acquisition Data Engineer | NV1+

Melbourne preferred | On-site 3–5 days per week | NV1 minimum

We are seeking an experienced Data Acquisition Data Engineer to support a large and complex Federal Government data environment.

n

This role is focused on the acquisition and movement of data from enterprise source systems into a central data platform. You'll be building and supporting data ingestion pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Apache NiFi and Microsoft SQL Server within a secure environment.

n

This is a hands‐on engineering role suited to someone with strong experience in data movement, integration and ingestion who is comfortable working across enterprise source systems and modern cloud and data platforms.

What you'll be doing

n

n
- Build and maintain data acquisition and ingestion pipelines.
n
- Move data from enterprise source systems into a central data platform.
n
- Develop data workflows using Azure Data Factory and Apache NiFi.
n
- Work with Microsoft SQL Server and other enterprise data sources.
n
- Troubleshoot pipeline, data movement and connectivity issues.
n
- Support testing, deployment and ongoing operation of data ingestion solutions.
n
- Work closely with data engineering, platform and technical teams.
n
- Contribute to reliable,



repeatable and maintainable data engineering practices.

What you'll need

Mandatory:

- At least 1 year of Azure Data Factory experience.
n
- At least 1 year of Apache NiFi experience.
n
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
n
- Current NV1 security clearance or higher.
n
- Ability to work on-site 3–5 days per week.
n

- NV2 clearance.
n
- Melbourne-based.
n
- Azure Cloud experience.
n
- Azure DevOps experience.
n
- Apache Iceberg experience.
n
- Exposure to Cloudera.
n
