Job Description

My client is a well respected 15 Partner top 20 Chartered firm based in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. They're looking for a mature, Financial Accountant who will be responsible in dealing with finance, accounting & tax function for the firm, reporting to the Finance Manager.

In detail you will be responsible for:

n

- Conduct month end reporting promptly following end of month for the entities including reconciliation of creditors, standing journal entries, (prepare consolidated management reports in accordance with timetable)

- Conduct year-end financial processes and reporting
n
- Working capital and cash flow management and reporting, (daily working capital reporting)
n
- Productivity reporting and monitoring
n
- Prepare and lodge tax returns and BAS returns for the firm and stakeholders
n
- Prepare budgets and forecasts for review
n
- Creditor management
n
- Oversight of invoicing and debtor management, reconciliation of APS, XERO and MYOB debtors
n

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

n

n




- Must have Financial Accounting experience within an accounting or legal practice
n
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Handisoft, MYOB, Xero)
n
- Strong understanding of accounting standards (AASB, IFRS)
n
- Solid commercial acumen with the ability to resolve issues pragmatically and identify opportunities to improve
n
- Demonstrated effectiveness in managing and leading a team, including developing capabilities and growing the engagement of individuals and the team overall
n
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
n
- The ability to develop positive and effective working relationships across the firm
n
- Well-developed prioritisation and time management skills and a proactive approach
n
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgement in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
n
