Job Description

On behalf of my clients who operate in the Australian Defence sector, I am currently looking for an experience System Safety Engineer who holds NV1 or above clearance.

The role is being offered as a long-term day rate contract and will be based from client's site in Melbourne.

n

THE ROLE:

n

The Systems Engineer will manage engineering effort across a team of Electronics Engineers and Requirements Engineers to conduct development, design, integration and technical certification.

n

The Systems Engineer will lead the planning, preparation and conduct for System Design Reviews and Detailed Design Reviews.

n

The Systems Engineer will apply technical risk management and support the Project Manager with estimates of resources, materials and effort for Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) work packages. The Systems Engineer will apply quality and configuration management in accordance will relevant plans and the Quality Management System.

KEY DUTIES:

n

The Service Provider shall provide systems engineering services associated with requirements engineering, engineering metrics, integration engineering, Verification and Validation (V&V;), test and evaluation, and technical performance measures.

n

The required services may include:

n

n
- Conduct requirements analysis and development;
n
- Develop and maintain a Systems Engineering Management Plan for the project;
n
- Develop and maintain a Technical Certification Plan for the project;
n
- Manage a requirements set through the project lifecycle;
n
- Develop and lead a System Safety program for the project;
n




- Conduct and review design and implementation;
n
- Conduct certification and support;
n
- Plan and deliver engineering services, regulatory compliance,
n
- Resource management, and project outcomes; and conduct reviews of contract deliverables.

Experience and Skills Sought:

n

The Successful candidate must have prior experience in the following areas:

n

At least 8 years' experience working as a Systems Engineer gained in the Defence sector.

n

Experience with requirement development and management.

n

Well versed with V&V; plans/procedures.

n

Ability to design documents and specialist engineering reports.

n

Prior experience with Hazard analysis and reports.

n

ITAR compliant

n

NV1 or above clearance

n

Essential Experience and / or Qualifications:

n

A qualified practitioner with higher degree qualifications or relevant industry experience of more than 8 years.

n

Highly Desirable Experience and / or Qualifications:

n

Extensive industry and specialty experience in electrical engineering and systems integration including integration on maritime platforms.

n

Experience with RF environments and wireless communications in contested communications or electronic warfare domains.

n

Experience in digital communications protocols and signal conversion techniques.

n

Experience driving processes and process improvements, including continuous improvement methodologies.

n

Experience with US Export Controls including Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA) and Third Party Retransfer authorisations
