About the role

Goodyear Auto Care Newcastle is seeking an experienced Licensed Motor Mechanic to join our team in Newcastle NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality automotive maintenance and repair services to our valued customers. As a Licensed Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing vehicle issues, performing repairs and maintenance work, and ensuring all work meets industry standards and safety regulations. This role is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in automotive servicing and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge

- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks and tyre servicing

- Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension and other vehicle components

- Follow manufacturer specifications and service schedules to ensure quality workmanship

- Keep detailed records of work completed, parts used and time spent on each job

- Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

- Use hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently

- Stay current with vehicle technology advances and industry best practices

- Support the team to meet service targets and maintain customer satisfaction

What we're looking for

- Valid Australian motor mechanic licence (or equivalent qualification recognised in NSW)





- Proven experience working as a licensed motor mechanic in a professional automotive workplace

- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions and electrical

- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and workshop management systems

- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Reliability and commitment to punctuality and skilled conduct
