About the Role

Are you an energetic, organized, and passionate educator who loves working with older children? We are a high-quality, community-focused Long Day Care Centre looking for dedicated Before & After School Care Educators to champion our expanding school-aged program.

- An educator who can specifically cover our morning sessions (preparing breakfast and handling school drop-offs),

- An educator who can specifically cover our afternoon sessions (handling school pickups, serving afternoon tea, and running activities), OR

- A candidate who is available and looking to work both sessions across the day.

This is a unique and rewarding role that blends active logistics with creative freedom. You will be responsible for creating an engaging "home away from home" environment for school-aged children, managing safe transitions to and from local primary schools, and designing a fun, leisure-based curriculum.

What We Are Looking For (Selection Criteria)

To ensure our service remains fully compliant with Western Australian regulations, we are looking for candidates who possess:

- Approved Qualifications: A Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood / School-Age Education and Care, OR a current student enrolled in an approved Primary/Secondary Teaching, Sport & Recreation, or Behavioral Science degree (minimum 50% completed) [ACECQA WA Qualifications Register].

- Compliance Essentials:



A valid WA Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a current, approved HLTAID012 (First Aid/CPR/Anaphylaxis/Asthma) certificate.

- Logistics & Safety Mindset: A valid WA Driver's License (LR or C-Class depending on your center bus needs) with a clean driving record is highly desirable for managing school bus transfers.

- The Right Attitude: High-energy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to guide older children through positive behavior management, collaboration, and conflict resolution.

- Tech Savvy: Confidence using digital center management software (experience with OWNA is a massive advantage!) to track attendance and document learning.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

1. Educational Program & Documentation (Quality Area 1)

- Implement the My Time, Our Place (MTOP) V2.0 Framework to design a vibrant, choice-driven, and leisure-based program.

- Facilitate engaging child-led projects, homework support hubs, indoor/outdoor sports, and arts and crafts workshops.

- Utilize OWNA to capture group learning stories, project inquiry photo logs, and daily updates for families.

2. Deliveries, Transitions & Transport (Quality Area 2)

- Execute safe, punctual, and strictly monitored morning school drop-offs and/or afternoon pickups via the center transit bus or walking lines.

- Maintain 100% accurate,



live headcount records on the OWNA master roll at the exact point of school custody handovers.

- Rigorously implement mandatory Daily Transport and Excursion Risk Assessments to prioritize child safety.

3. Health, Safety & Room Operations (Quality Area 2 & 3)

- Prepare and serve nutritious breakfasts (morning shifts) and heavy afternoon teas (afternoon shifts) in alignment with food safety and allergy guidelines.

- Ensure emergency medication (EpiPens, asthma inhalers) is securely packed during transit and stored accessibly in office.

- Oversee and maintain a dedicated, clean, and safe physical zone specifically organized for older children's projects, protecting their resources from early-years spaces.

4. Behavioural Support & Collaborative Partnerships (Quality Area 5 & 6)

- Cultivate respectful, positive relationships that respect the growing agency and dignity of school-aged children.

- Use proactive, strength-based guidance strategies to support children in managing peer-to-peer relationships, negotiating team play, and resolving conflict.

- Communicate effectively and professionally with school administration staff, bus hubs, and families.
