Priority Expertise: Legal & Education

St Rita’s College Limited invites expressions of interest from suitably experienced people who are interested in contributing their expertise as volunteer Non-Executive Directors on the College Board.

The College is seeking to strengthen the Board’s collective capability and is particularly interested in candidates with senior-level experience in one or both of the following areas:

- Legal: corporate and commercial law, education law, employment law, governance, regulatory compliance, risk or related fields.

- Education: school or tertiary leadership, curriculum and pedagogy, education policy, student wellbeing, safeguarding, or education-sector governance.

In addition to the immediate positions requiring legal and education experience, the St Rita’s Board welcomes members with experience in marketing and communication, finance, strategy, infrastructure and technology.

Serving on the Board offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to the future of St Rita's College and the lives of the young women it serves. Directors provide strategic leadership and stewardship, helping to ensure the College continues to thrive as a leading Catholic educational College grounded in faith, excellence and community.

The Board sets strategic direction consistent with the College’s mission and Catholic identity, oversees financial sustainability and risk, monitors organisational performance, and supports solid governance. Day-to-day management remains the responsibility of the Principal and College Leadership Team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

- Demonstrated professional expertise and sound judgement.





- Governance experience, or a willingness to undertake governance formation and professional development.

- A collaborative, strategic and independent approach to decision-making.

- Commitment to the mission, values and Catholic identity of St Rita’s College and respect for its Presentation tradition and ministry relationship with Mercy Partners.

- Capacity to prepare for and participate actively in Board and committee meetings, induction, formation and College events.

- A strong commitment to child safety, integrity, confidentiality and management of conflicts of interest.

ELIGIBILITY AND APPOINTMENT:

Appointments are voluntary and subject to the College’s governance requirements, due diligence, Board consideration and formal approval by Mercy Partners as the sole Member. Before appointment, the successful candidate must satisfy all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including director eligibility, a director identification number, police report and relevant Queensland Blue Card requirements.

All expressions of interest are to be submitted via Seek and must include:

- A Cover Letter outlining your relevant expertise, governance contribution and alignment with the College’s mission.

- A current Resume
