We are Cooks River Canteen, small kiosk located by the Cooks River a short stroll away from Marrickville and Tempe station.
We specialise in serving amazing espresso and filter coffee supplied by industry legends Double Tap and Sample Coffee Roasters.
About the role
We're looking for an outstanding Barista to run the espresso bar at Cooks River Canteen and carry forward the high standards of our coffee program. You'll need at least 3 years' experience as a barista in a quality-focused specialty coffee setting. You'll take full ownership of coffee quality — dialing in, controlling extraction, refining workflow, and keeping consistency across every shift. . You'll set the pace at the machine during rushes and make sure every cup hits the mark.

Dial in espresso and control extraction to maintain coffee quality standards.
Refine workflow and keep consistency across every shift.
Maintain very high standards for cleanliness, workflow, and presentation
Ensure every cup meets quality expectations
About you
Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a quality-driven espresso bar
Robust specialty coffee knowledge across both espresso and filter
Pay close attention to brewing variables and extraction detail
Excellent communication skills and places the utmost value on customer service
Ability to multitask effectively, maintaining quality and efficiency across multiple sections of the kiosk
Availability to work weekends, including both Saturday and Sunday
Committed to consistency and constant improvement
