The Inspector-General is appointed by the Governor-General and is responsible for overseeing the operation of the aged care system.

Key responsibilities
To be a strong contender for this nationally important and challenging role, you will: have demonstrated you can operate independently in determining review and reporting priorities.
To be a strong contender for this nationally significant and challenging role, you will: be a leader who sets the standard for independence, integrity and performance, with a substantial record of achievement operating within a complex governance and regulatory framework.
To be a robust contender for this nationally important and challenging role, you will: have extensive skilled / executive management experience and a solid knowledge of public administration, government and parliamentary processes and protocols.
manage OIGAC capability and performance.

What you need
have experience in exercising legislative powers and functions, or the ability to acquire it.
