Maintenance Officer/TradespersonFarmborough Grove, Farmborough | Part time – 4 days per week | $***** per hour + super + NFP benefitsKeep things running for your local community.
Are you a practical, hands‐on person who enjoys fixing things, solving problems and keeping properties well maintained?
We're looking for a Maintenance Officer to join our team at Farmborough Grove, our independent retirement living community in Farmborough.
You'll also provide maintenance support at Nareena Homes in Figtree, another of our independent living communities.This is a great opportunity to put your practical skills to work in your own community, helping maintain safe, comfortable and well‐presented homes and shared spaces for people enjoying their retirement.You'll be part of a friendly team and have plenty of variety in your day.
One minute you might be replacing a tap washer or light globe, the next you could be responding to a maintenance request, moving furniture or arranging access for a contractor.What You'll Be DoingOn a daily basis, you'll receive work requests for your allocated facilities and services through our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Where required, you'll work with the Asset Coordinator to prioritise works and ensure jobs are completed in a timely manner.Your work will include a range of routine, planned and reactive building and property maintenance tasks, such as:Replacing light globesUnblocking toilets and drainsChanging tap washersMoving furniture and equipmentPainting and minor repairsWaste disposalGeneral external cleaningOther building and property maintenance tasks as requiredYou'll AlsoEnsure contractors attending site have completed the appropriate site induction and are working safelyAdvise managers or staff when maintenance work may impact a service areaMaintain buildings and equipment in accordance with relevant legislation and corporate standardsRespond to maintenance requests promptly and professionallyCommunicate effectively and respectfully with residents, staff and familiesBuild positive relationships with residents and understand the importance of providing a responsive and respectful service within an independent living communityWhat You'll BringYou'll be practical, reliable and comfortable working independently while also being part of a wider team.
You'll have:A trade qualification in a maintenance discipline, or equivalent proven experienceDemonstrated experience in a maintenance roleA current driver's licenceKnowledge and understanding of legislation relating to buildings and workplace health and safetyDemonstrated ability to maintain buildings and equipment in accordance with legislation and/or corporate standardsHighly developed interpersonal and communication skillsAn understanding of contractor obligations and protected work practicesGood computer skillsKnowledge and experience using a CMMS would be desirableIf you're looking for a practical role where you can use your skills, build relationships and make a difference close to home, we'd love to hear from you.Should you have any questions, please contact Dina Oraha at Why Uniting?
