Campervan Builder / Trade Technician – Operations Manager Pathway
CAMPERVAN BUILDER – ABN TRADE CONTRACTORS / OPERATIONS MANAGER PATHWAY

Byron Bay Van Fitouts designs and builds premium custom campervans and motorhomes.
We are seeking skilled, practical independent contractors across two trade streams:

CONTRACT ARRANGEMENT
This is an independent contractor engagement through your own active ABN.
Work is offered from project to project.
The scope, timing, expected hours, deliverables and contractor rate will be agreed before each project begins.
Regular project work and substantial hours may be available, but each engagement is project-specific.
We want to build an ongoing relationship with reliable contractors who expect to remain available across projects for at least 12 months.
This is not intended as short-term or seasonal work.
TECHNICAL STREAM
12V electrical systems, solar, inverters, batteries and related equipment
240V work only where you hold the required Australian licence
Water tanks, pumps, pipework, fittings and appliances
Mechanical, installation, testing and fault-finding tasks
Practical problem-solving throughout custom builds
CARPENTRY / CABINETMAKING STREAM
Building and installing premium cabinetry and fit-out components
Reading plans, technical drawings and accurate measurements
Cutting, assembly, installation and detailed finishing
Workshop machinery, power tools and hand tools
Solving installation challenges in compact custom spaces
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
An active ABN and the ability to invoice for agreed project work
A relevant trade qualification or licence in at least one listed discipline
Strong hands-on experience and consistently high-quality workmanship
A level-headed, qualified and self-managed approach
A strong work ethic, clear communication and respect for the team
Reliability,



consistency and ownership of agreed outcomes and deadlines
Your own reliable transport and standard trade tools
A current driver's licence and White Card
Current Australian work rights suitable for this contractor role and reliable availability to attend our Tyagarah workshop
A genuine intention to remain available across projects for at least 12 months
Campervan, caravan, motorhome, marine, tiny-home, custom-manufacturing or comparable fit-out experience is highly regarded.
LEADERSHIP AND OPERATIONS PATHWAY
We are especially interested in someone with sound judgment who communicates well, supports others, plans ahead and has the potential to progress within the team and eventually lead it.
Previous management, workshop leadership, project coordination or operations experience is highly regarded.
Everyone starts in a hands‐on trade and project-delivery role.
An Operations Manager or Team Lead position will only be considered after the person has completed at least six months of consistent project work with Byron Bay Van Fitouts.
After that minimum six-month period, consideration will be based on demonstrated workmanship, reliability, communication, leadership, planning, team coordination, problem‐solving and accountability, together with the company's needs at the time.
This is a genuine potential pathway, not an automatic promotion.
Any management appointment would be a separate role or engagement agreed at that time.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
