The Role
Are you passionate about health, safety and employee wellbeing?
Working within our Safety and Wellbeing team, as our Senior Injury and Wellbeing Advisor, you will:
Ensure the City meets its obligations and responsibilities through effective and strategic claims management, in accordance with the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act ****
Lead the management of WorkCover claims minimising actual and potential costs
Support the development of a positive safety culture throughout the organisation to ensure a secure, healthy and productive workplace
Provide professional and specialist advice to People Managers and staff in relation to wellbeing, workers compensation, early intervention, return to work, and injury management
Manage a busy and varied workload, balancing competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, professionalism and high levels of customer service
This is a temporary parental leave backfill position to September ****.
About You
To be successful in this varied position, you will have:
Extensive knowledge and experience in the provision of strategic and results-oriented injury/ claims management and prevention, and wellbeing services and programs
Demonstrated ability to interpret and have a thorough knowledge of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation Compensation and Occupational Health and Safety legislation and regulations
Sound administrative, problem solving, research, analytical and decision-making skills and experience
A customer service focus with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Patience, empathy and tact, and the ability to judge situations to determine the best way forward




Relevant qualifications and/ or extensive experience in Injury/ WorkCover Claims Management
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a busy environment while meeting deadlines
Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive information
This role requires a police records check and employee Working with Children Check.
Annual salary increases (next increase from October **** to $109,533)
