Sales Representative / Junior BDM

Freightquip is looking for a commercially minded and motivated Sales Representative / Junior Business Development Manager to join our growing sales team.
n
This is an opportunity to develop a career in technical and industrial sales, working alongside experienced Business Development Managers and industry specialists while gradually building responsibility for your own customers, opportunities and sales targets.
n
You don't need to arrive as an experienced BDM. We are looking for someone with the drive, communication skills and commercial mindset to develop into one.

About the Role
n
As a Sales Representative, you will work with Freightquip's sales and technical teams to identify opportunities, develop customer relationships and grow sales across our markets.
n
Initially, you will work closely with experienced Sales leaders, learning our products, customers, OEM partners and sales process.
n
As your knowledge and capability develop, you will take increasing ownership of your own customers, sales opportunities and market segments.
n
Your role will include prospecting and lead generation, customer engagement, preparing quotations and proposals, following up opportunities, supporting tenders and developing new business.
n
This is a hands‐on commercial role with a genuine pathway into a full Business Development Manager position.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Identify and develop new sales opportunities across Freightquip's target markets.
n
Research prospective customers, projects and emerging market opportunities.
n
Undertake outbound prospecting and lead generation.
n
Build relationships with current and existing customers.
n
Attend customer meetings, site visits and industry events.
n
Understand customer operational requirements and assist in developing suitable equipment solutions.
n
Prepare and follow up quotations, proposals and commercial offers.
n
Work with international OEM partners to obtain pricing, specifications and technical information.
n
Maintain an active sales pipeline and ensure opportunities are progressed and followed up.
n
Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity values, expected close dates and next actions.
n
Assist with tenders and larger commercial submissions.
n
Work with technical and operational teams to develop customer solutions and commercial proposals.
n
Monitor competitor activity, industry developments and upcoming projects.
n
Develop knowledge of Freightquip's products, customers and industries.
n
Provide sales forecasts, pipeline updates and activity reporting.
n
Achieve agreed sales and business development targets as responsibility for your territory or portfolio grows.
n
Support effective handover of successful sales opportunities into Freightquip's project, service and operational teams.
n

About You
n
We are looking for someone who is confident communicating with customers, commercially curious and motivated to build a career in sales.
n
You may already have some sales experience, or you could come from a technical, service, project or industrial setting and be looking for an opportunity to move into a commercial role.
n
You will ideally bring:
n
n
Some experience in sales, account management, customer service, business development or trade based role.
n
A genuine interest in developing a career in technical sales and business development.
n
Confidence speaking with customers and developing professional relationships.
n
Strong communication and presentation skills.
n
Commercial awareness and an interest in understanding how businesses make purchasing decisions.
n
The confidence to prospect, approach new customers and follow up opportunities.
n
Good organisation and the ability to manage multiple sales opportunities at different stages.
n
Experience using CRM systems or the ability to learn them quickly.
n
Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
n
The ability to understand technical information and work effectively with technical specialists.
n
A proactive, accountable and results‐focused approach.
n
n
Experience within electrical, mechanical, engineering, freight, industrial equipment, trades, transport, aviation, rail, ports or heavy industry will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
n
