ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a Local Sydney Council that is looking for a temporary 6-Month contract Open Space & Recreational Planner that can hit the ground running for a large-scale project . This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that is looking for a consistent pipeline of unique projects in line with their future initiatives.

ABOUT THE ROLE
n
You will be performing both front-end and back-end planning, designing and implementation processes, related to both open space and recreation. Reporting into the Open Space & Recreation Planning Team Leader, you will also be working with internal teams and external stakeholders, including key community members and partners to manage and preserve community land in a lawful and sustainable manner.

DUTIES
n
n
Lead the development, review and implementation of Plans of Management in line with legislative requirements
n




Set about research to analyse and strategically plan for open space & recreation projects
n
Consult and engage in community activities
n
Report progress & projections in detail to Manager Infrastructure & Planning
n
Prepare site specific plans & grant applications as required
n
n
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
n
n
3+ years of Urban Planning experience
n
Previous Council experience is preferred but not essential
n
Proven track record of managing projects in a timely and efficient manner
n
Strong knowledge of Local Government Act **** & Crown Lands Management Act ****
n
Strong research, written & verbal communication, & problem-solving skills
n
n

REMUNERATIONS & BENEFITS

$70 - $80 p/h + super

6 Month Contract with potential for permanent full time contract
