About the role
We are looking for a Part-Time Assistant Accountant/Payroll Coordinator to join our team at our Silverwater, NSW office.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills and career in accounting and payroll while enjoying flexible part-time work.
You will support our payroll and accounting functions, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time. You will work closely with our experienced team in a supportive and qualified workplace.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate fortnightly and monthly payroll
Manage employee onboarding and terminations
Prepare payroll tax and payroll journals
Perform general ledger (GL) reconciliations
Assist with workers compensation insurance
Respond to employee payroll and accounting queries
Provide backup support to team members when required
What we're looking for
Qualification in accounting, payroll, or business administration, or relevant experience
Experience with payroll and accounting software; Employment Hero or SAP B1 is preferred
Valuable numerical and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail
Good organisational and time management skills
Understanding of Australian payroll and tax requirements
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn and develop your skills
Previous payroll or accounting experience is an advantage
