Childcare Centre Cook/Food safety Supervisor

As the service's cook, you are expected to be an active member of the team which provides high quality early childhood education and care. This will be achieved through the effective management and upkeep of the service kitchen facilities. This includes developing solid relationships with children at the service; developing strong relationships that support and partner with families; implementing and upholding the policies and associated procedures and practices of the organisation; and working with other staff towards continuous improvement in all areas of the service's operations and service.
Key responsibilities
Involved in supporting a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care
Working in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law and applicable regulations and the National Quality Standard for Early Education and Care
Working in accordance with the Code of Ethics and the services Code of Conduct




Implementing and upholding the services' philosophy while undertaking all duties
Maintain and uphold Workplace Health and Safety
Maintain and uphold privacy and confidentiality
Complete menu planning which is age appropriate for the children being catered for and follows recognised nutritional guidelines
Manage the kitchen in total compliance with health department requirements, Educational and Care Services National Regulations and Law, National Quality Standards/Framework and related policies and procedures
Ensure all procedures are maintained to high standards e.g.: hygiene, overall presentation of kitchen area
Ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and its coordination with the other programs of the service
About you
Certificate III in food preparation or equivalent, or in the opinion of the employer, possess the appropriate skills and training to carry out the work at this level
Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Training
Clear Working with Children Check
