What You'll Be Doing
Your day-to-day duties may include:
Fabrication, welding and repair of metal structures and components
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
Carrying out maintenance, repairs and modifications as required
Using a range of hand tools, power tools and welding equipment
Performing cutting, grinding, drilling and other fabrication tasks
Inspecting completed work to ensure quality and compliance




Assisting with installation and maintenance activities
Identifying faults and completing repairs where required
Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas
Working closely with other trades and operational teams
Following all workplace health and safety procedures
Following site-specific aviation, security and safety requirements
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced and reliable Boilermaker who takes pride in their work and can operate effectively in a busy industrial environment.
We're looking for people who are:
Qualified and experienced as a Boilermaker
Experienced in welding and general fabrication
Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings
Experienced with repairs and maintenance
Comfortable using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Physically fit and comfortable performing manual tasks
Safety-conscious with a strong commitment to quality
Reliable, punctual and committed to consistent attendance
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities
Professional and comfortable working within an operational aviation environment
Candidates with experience in aviation, transport, heavy industry, manufacturing, infrastructure, maintenance or other industrial environments are encouraged to apply.

Relevant Boilermaker trade qualification
Previous experience in fabrication, welding and/or maintenance
Ability to pass required aviation security and background checks
Ability to meet site-specific security and access requirements
Physically capable of performing the duties of the role
Commitment to workplace health and safety
Ability to follow strict site procedures and safety requirements
Relevant licences, tickets or additional trade qualifications will be highly regarded
Work Environment
This role is based within the Melbourne Airport aviation environment, where safety, security and operational requirements are a key part of the workplace.
The position may involve:
Working around operational equipment and vehicles
Working around aircraft-support infrastructure and airport facilities
Performing hands-on fabrication and maintenance tasks
Working both independently and alongside other trades
Following strict aviation safety and security procedures
